St. Andrew's Lutheran Church

Lent

“Lent” is an old English word for “springtime” coming from a word for “lengthen” because the days get longer and longer. This church season of Lent lasts 40 days leading up to Easter, not counting the Sundays, which are traditionally considered “little Easters.” Lent is a time for self-reflection and preparation. Some people adopt special customs, spiritual disciplines, or devotions during the season as opportunities to experience God in new ways. You are invited to participate in this Lenten journey. Our theme this year will be “Empathy.” We will think about the ways God is calling our community to serve.
